SOAP Bible Study Method

  • S - Scripture - Write down the verse that spoke to you most in the passage you read.

  • O - Observation - Write down what you observed from that verse. Keep observations simple and clear, even obvious.

  • A - Application - What does God want you to understand? What does God want you to believe? What does God want you to desire? What does God want you to do? This is kind of like God saying to you, “Here is what I want you to apply to your life.”

  • P - Prayer - Spend time talking with God like a child speaking with his/her loving Father.

Write your prayers out. This will give you a running record of when and how God answers your prayers.
